Solar and Lunar eclipses tend to come in pairs, a solar eclipse tends to come about two weeks earlier than a lunar eclipse.
The Blood Moon is not a scientific term, however, it is possible that the term came to describe total lunar eclipses because of the reddish color the eclipsed Moon takes on during totality. This happens because of Rayleigh scattering, the same mechanism that causes colorful sunrises and sunsets. Anyhow, here is a photo of the Lunar Eclipse taken from the Cedars of Chouf in Lebanon on the 27th of September 2015.
